Today I want to talk about market cycles. Usually what happens with the market is it starts to slow down around October, and then stays slow through the winter. So if you're thinking about selling your house, now is the time to do so if you want to get top dollar.
Why is that? Right now, buyers are out, inventory is low, and prices are getting cranked up through the roof. We're seeing lots of multiple offer situations right now, and houses are selling for tens of thousands over asking price. I even heard of a house in Seattle that sold for $300,000 over list price, and I couldn't believe it.
The reason for this is the low inventory. There's no supply, so the demand goes through the roof. Interest rates are very low right now, but they will rise eventually. If you're looking to sell a home, right now is definitely the time. If you're looking to buy a home, you really should jump in while the interest rates are still at record lows.
